Gloucestershire Airport Hosts Fly2Help's Air Smiles Day
Wednesday November 04, 2026

Gloucestershire Airport was delighted to host Fly2Help's Air Smiles Day last week, welcoming local families and young aviation enthusiasts for a very special day celebrating the power of aviation.
A particular highlight was the opportunity to welcome the British Airways Airbus A350 Mobile Simulator to the airport, made possible through the support of BA High Flight (British Airways' pilot charity).
The event welcomed 15 local families living with challenges, illness or disability, alongside 12 young aviation enthusiasts taking part in Fly2Help's Aim High Programme.
The day provided a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy a unique aviation experience, while giving young people the chance to see the airport from a different perspective and feel part of the wider airport community.
For many of these young enthusiasts, the airport is somewhere they already know and enjoy visiting, but Air Smiles Day offered the opportunity to experience it in a completely different way. Creating special memories, inspiring young people and bringing smiles to families through the power of aviation is at the heart of what Fly2Help does.
Gloucestershire Airport is proud to have supported the event and to play a part in helping Fly2Help deliver such a meaningful experience for families across the local area.
We would like to thank Fly2Help and BA for their continued support and for allowing us to be part of such a worthwhile initiative. It was a pleasure to welcome everyone to the airport and help create a day full of smiles, inspiration, and memorable experiences.
